Research and creation

The  association Danser l'Espace wishes to develop artist residencies, and to be identified as a place of research and experimentation, by offering spaces for artistic practice and creation in situ (in the studio, and in outdoor space).

We wish to carry out 3 calls for projects per year, in connection with our object, in the town of Tourzel-Ronzières, and the surrounding rural territory.

We are addressing dancers, musicians, writers, actors, visual artists, photographers ... all artists who address through their art, the issues of the environment, landscape and architecture.

Our objective is to offer conditions of time, and immersion favorable to their artistic research, and to promote the meeting and a sensitive sharing around the works, with the public of a rural and mountainous territory, in which the presence artistic is not "natural".

The town of Tourzel-Ronzières has an interesting reception potential in terms of outdoor and indoor spaces (natural environment, paths, river, forest, Oppidum de Ronzières with its esplanade and its large lime tree, common oven with green space around , gardens, Place des Porciphages, with 3 spaces: open space with an open-air stage, bleachers and a covered space, Maret space: former Tourzel church now suitable for exhibitions and shows, library, volunteer mill, with a large room to organize concerts, shows, more accommodation, Sous les Pommiers ba, place of practice, private).

The establishment of a residence would make it possible to place the poetic at the heart of our environment and local populations.

We would make what surrounds us sensitive, by bringing together a different perspective on the landscape and art in the making, by allowing meetings, exchanges, workshops led by the artists in residence.

Highlighting the natural heritage, orchards, gardens, squares, paths, rivers ... as well as local buildings, churches, mill, library ... through new human and artistic mobilizations is part of our objectives.

Landscape architect, Gaelle Pranal  walk, note, draw, dance, perform, improvise.

Walk from Tourzel. To perceive the topography under my feet and all around. Climb to the top of the puys. To note.

Note on rollers what I perceive, what lives.

Read the links to what is far away, the Monts Dore, the Massif du Sancy, the Cézallier, the Monts Dôme and the Plaine de la Limagne.
Try to capture the landforms closer by browsing them. Lime, couzes and streams and puys.
And at the same time, seek to know the geological, volcanic, hydrological histories, but also the histories of uses, habitat and
activities in these places.

To gradually get to know this territory, and through my notes, let appear a story of these places during the residency.

July August 2021

The Danser l'Espace association welcomes Frédéric Mathevet in residence, Sous les Pommiers Ba, in Tourzel-Ronzières from July 31 to August 14, 2021.

The public will be able to meet the artist on August 14 from 5 p.m. , and attend a sound reproduction of his work in situ , from 8 p.m.

Frédéric Mathevet is an artist and transdisciplinary researcher, pioneering new fields of experience. He develops an approach to sound and musical plastic and low tech.

His approach is part of a poor art form, which includes plastic, sound and musical research, ecological and decreasing. He thinks of each artistic gesture in accordance with the environment which sees it being born. He mixes sounds, images, mixes the plastic arts with experimental musical composition. His works creep into everyday life, and offer a sensitive questioning of the world around us.
