Workshop "Points of hearing and listening landscapes"

Public: All ages from 12 years old - 15 people maximum

Objectives: Activate sensitive listening to the landscape through walking and the search for listening postures in situ.

Share a contextual and relational experience, between aesthetics, sociability and sound ecology.

Places: Site  "Under the Ba apple trees", orchard, surrounding paths, village ...

Unrolled:

Morning "Install listening" (3 hours)

- Live presentation of PAS - Sensitive Audio Paths (origins, actors, a few words on sound ecology, field recording practices, between capture and sound creation, notions of hearing bridges

- Surveying of the place, silent listening, in mobility and in hearing points. Research into mental and physical listening postures, making places sound, kinesthesia and sound geography.

- Write a course, locate hearing points

Afternoon (3 hours) install a soundscape

- Listen to some commented soundscapes

- In situ recording, collective replay, examples of live sound processing

- Return to the field, last sound immersion in resonance with the previous listening workshops.

Material:

Participants who can are invited to bring a recorder, smartphone recorder ...

Remarks :

Bring good shoes and an "all-terrain" outfit, or even rain gear ...

Gilles Malatray , French artist born in 1959, lives in Lyon (Fr).

Listening walker and teacher, he has worked for many years around the soundscape. In a posture associating aesthetic, cultural, artistic and ecological approaches, the writing and the composition of sound landscapes are strongly linked to the territories invested, whether they are city, peri-urban, rural environment, natural space, architectural site ... issues occupy a central position in Désartsonnante practice through curation, research, transmedial writings, training and artistic interventions in situ. Environmental listening remains thus, whatever the form of intervention called, at the center of all investigation and sound creation.
